Technology doesn’t stand still, and we regularly see new achievements of game hardware creators. Most of them look really amazing, like a huge step into fantastical future… This time the relay race of game consoles upgrade has been taken by Sony. After their main competitor, Microsoft Corporation, presented Xbox One X and Xbox Project Scorpio, the Japanese made their step and presented PlayStation 4 Slim and PlayStation 4 Pro.
The first console – is just a slimmer and lighter version of usual PS4. After 3 years of its existence, technologies have given to Sony a possibility to get the same performance from the smaller and more energy efficient hardware. The Sony’s designers have made good work, and new PS4 Slim looks stylishly - like all the PlayStation series.
The second creation of Sony isn’t smaller at all but it is much more powerful than its predecessor. We cannot say that PS4 Pro is a new generation of game consoles because only graphics output has changed very much: PlayStation 4 Pro supports technology of 4K resolution and High Dynamic Range (HDR). New GPU and CPU make game pictures amazingly beautiful, what involves players into the new level of game experience.
Some popular games will be updated to support the new visual possibilities of the PlayStation console. Also, Sony expects new releases from game developers, which will support PS4 Pro from the very beginning. On the console presentation, few names were mentioned: Uncharted 4, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Mass Effect: Andromeda, and Days Gone. Of course, all the other PS4 games will run on the Pro console, but with their usual graphics – it is better to think about PS4 Slim for them! Also PS4 Pro will help its users to watch movies and TV shows in the best quality for now – 4K. Netflix has made the new application for streaming video on PS4 Pro. YouTube also works on its own app.
The appearance of the new console: it is the same PS4, but with extra “layer”, what matches its powerfulness.
PlayStation 4 Slim is available from 16th of September and its suggested price is $300. PlayStation 4 Pro is available from 10th of November and its suggested price is $400.
