There are three specific bonus items in the Pokemon Duel game that are very similar to each other and may cause confusion. They look like cubes of different colors, and they are very helpful for developing our teams of Pokemon figures. In this Pokemon Duel tutorial, we explain how to use Cubes, Ingots, and Rare Metal, from where take them, and how the items of one kind differ from each other.

Cubes, Ingots, and Rare Metal have different rarity. This is similar to the rarity of Pokemon figures:
- UX - unique Pokémon of Mega Evolution;
- EX – extremely rare;
- R – rare;
- UC – uncommon;
- C – common.
Different Ingots and Rare Metal give different amount of coins and experience. Different Cubes can be used only with Pokemon of an appropriate rarity.
How to use ingots in Pokemon Duel?
Oh, that attractive shine of gold… :)
In the game we can get Gold Ingots and change them on coins. This is quite a tricky moment for beginners in Pokemon Duel – it’s not always clear what those Ingots are for. Often players use them in the Fusion section and this is just a waste of them because after merging a figure with an Ingot we can add to a Pokemon only 1 experience point. But if visit an appropriate section of the in-game shop, we can get thousands of coins from the same Ingot.
What to do with coins in Pokemon Duel? Every time we merge objects in the Fusion section we should pay coins for this. Such merging allows adding additional experience to Pokemon figures, increase their Chain Level. And this is a point, where Cubes and Rare Metal come to the scene…
How to use Rare Metal in Pokemon Duel?
These bonus items give experience points to Pokemon figures. We merge Rare Metal in the Fusion section spending coins on the process.
Why do we add experience to Pokemon? This allows leveling up figures and expanding powerful sections of their Data Disks. Their Miss sections become smaller.
Originally, Pokémon figures can evolve up to 5th level. But after using on them the special item Carmonite, this max increases up to 10th level. This “miracle” became possible after the Major Update of Pokémon Duel in August 2017.

There is another way of getting experience for a Pokemon – merge it with another figure! Read more in our tutorial “How to play Pokemon Duel: what we should know about figures”.
How to use Cubes in Pokemon Duel?
This kind of game items increases Chain Level of Pokemon figures. This means, that we can add 1 extra point to any White Attack on Data Disks of Pokemon. Every time we do so again, we can add 1 point more!
This becomes very helpful during battles of the same Pokemon, or of Pokemon with equal power of their White sections. Just one extra point may give success in a battle. And maybe even in a duel…
Cubes are specific items! We can use UX, EX, R, UC, and C Cubes only on Pokemon of the same rarity type. And it’s not easy to increase Chain Level of every type. For example:
- EX figures need just 1 Cube, but EX Cubes are really unique. So we have to make the decision thoughtfully - to which figure add Chain Level;
- C Cubes are really common, but C Pokemon need 30 of them. So we have to be permanent in our decisions - merge C Cubes with chosen figure until the increasing of Chain Level.
How can we get these bonus items?
- By winning league matches players get Time Boosters and keys for Locked Boosters. They are special objects which contain Pokemon figures, Cubes, Ingots, and Rare Metal.
- By winning training matches and quests of the Pokemon Duel story mode players get a lot of bonus objects, such as gems, plates, Cubes, Ingots, and Rare Metal.
- By accomplishing Daily missions players can get coins, gems, Cubes, Ingots, and Rare Metal.
- By winning matches during tournaments (Gym Cups) players can get Pokemon figures and really good Cubes, Ingots, and Rare Metal.
- Just by login in regularly players get special bonuses, and they may be Cubes, Ingots, and Rare Metal.
It is also nice for beginners in Pokemon Duel to know which modes the game has, what the difference between them, and how to activate them. We explain this topic in the tutorial “How to play Pokemon Duel: All the game modes”.
