Darksiders Genesis – a new view at the series (game release)

The Balance of powers allows our world to exist, but some creatures do not agree with the situation, and they want more power to become almighty rulers. It’s a duty of the mystic Horsemen to support the Balance and stop everyone threatening it. In this game, Strife and War are the main heroes. They fight demons to destroy the evil conspiracy.

Darksiders Genesis is available for PC and Google Stadia. The PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions are planned for February 2020.

This new iteration of Darksiders differs from the previous games in a few ways. The most noticeable is the view angle – instead of the classic 3rd-person style (similar to God of War), it has a top-down perspective, like in Diablo. Still, the genre remains the same. Darksiders Genesis is the hack and slash action RPG. Players move through the virtual world and battle lots of various monsters. Sometimes, strong bosses try to stop the heroes. Sometimes, the game offers environmental puzzles. 

Both War and Strife are playable in the single-player mode – you can switch between the characters whenever you want to. In the co-op campaign, two players enjoy the colourful fights on the split-screen.

Strife enters the series for the first time. He has pistols and shoots from a distance. War fights with his sword. This Horseman was the hero of the first game. Death and Fury from the 2nd and 3rd games are nowhere to be seen in Genesis. Events of this new game take place long before the start of original Darksiders.
